Like so many businesses and organizations, the Elk Grove Food Bank has been hit hard in multiple ways by the coronavirus pandemic. “The unprecedented spike in demand for food assistance is unlike anything we’ve experienced before at Elk Grove Food Bank Services,” says Executive Director Marie Jachino. Compared to the same period last year, the demand is up by a staggering 600% in the average daily number of new households requesting assistance. This equates to 4,000 new clients. At the same time, many traditional sources of donated food from grocery stores and food drives have significantly decreased.
2023 marks the 16th year of the Run 4 Hunger. For the time being, while we are avoiding social and athletic gatherings, we are launching the annual Run 4 Hunger as a Virtual Run/Walk.

2. Run or walk your 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles); completion date is July 31
3. Submit your proof of time to be in the unofficial results for the Run 4 Hunger 5K or 10K (picture of watch, treadmill, phone, Strava, etc.) —Optional
